As one of the largest hotel in Nairobi, it comes as no surprise to find the service of high standards. The Inter-Continental was built in the 1970s in an attempt to meet the demands of an ever expanding tourist industry. At present there are 385 rooms (mostly double bedrooms) although there are plans to increase this number over the next few years. The fine roof-top restaurant, Le Chateau, is popular not least because it is one of the best places in the city to round off a good meal with a dance. All facilities are available with a swimming pool, a shopping arcade, a casino, a pool-side terrace and `The Big Five` Bar.
