Day 2: Monday - Lima City Tour
This morning meet with your guide for an orientation. Afterwards, depart for a tour of Lima. Enjoy the sights of Perus capital city with 2000 years of indigenous and colonial heritage before stopping at the San Francisco Monastery, famous for its 17th century architecture and world-renowned library. Day 3: Tuesday - Fly to Cuzco
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore on your own Overnight: Cuzco ( B )
Day 4: Wednesday - Full Day in Cuzco
Spend today at leisure in "The Imperial City". Take time to sightsee or shop independently. Cuzco is declared the Historical Capital by the Constitution of Peru and hosts nearly 1 million visitors every year. Visit some of the numerous Inca monuments or investigate the culinary secrets of Andean cuisine Optional: Full Day Machu Picchu (choose Expedition Train, Vistadome Train, or Hiram Bingham Train) Overnight: Cuzco ( B )
Day 5: Thursday - Cuzco City Tour
Enjoy this morning at leisure in Cuzco. In the afternoon, depart for a tour of Cuzco, view the impressive Colonial Cathedral in Cuzco, which contains over 400 paintings from the Cusqueña School in addition to colonial art. Continue on to visit the Korikancha, the Temple of the Sun, whose walls and floors were allegedly once covered by sheets of solid gold. Day 6: Friday - Transfer to Puno, Raqchi, and Pucara
Depart early this morning and travel to Puno, located on the banks of Lake Titicaca, the worlds highest navigable lake at 12,421 feet above sea level. Proceed to the Incan archaeological site of Raqchi, location of the Temple of Wiracocha. Admire the temple complex, living quarters, storehouses, fairgrounds, and ceremonial baths before departing for the artisan town of Pucara, the last stop before continuing on to Puno. Day 7: Saturday - Excursion to Uros Islands
Today begins with a boat trip to the Uros Islands. These islands are completely man-made structures, and their inhabitants, the Uros, continue to maintain them as they have since pre-Columbian times, using totora reeds from the lake to build not only the islands, but also their houses. Return to your hotel later in the day and enjoy the balance at leisure Optional: Half Day Sillustani Tombs (PM) Overnight: Puno ( B )
Day 8: Sunday - Fly to Lima
This morning transfer to the airport in Juliaca for your flight back to Lima. Spend the remainder of the evening at leisure Overnight: Lima ( B )
Day 9: Monday - Flight to Quito

Day 10: Tuesday - Sail to Cerro Brujo
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to San Cristobal Island. Upon arrival, proceed to board your ship, the Galapagos Explorer II. After settling in, you are whisked away to visit Cerro Brujo (Wizards Hill), one of the first sites Charles Darwin visited in the Galapagos. Today, it has become renowned for its stunning white-sand beach where an abundance of wildlife can be found, including brown pelicans, blue footed boobies, marine iguanas, and, most notably, sea lion colonies Overnight: Cruise ( B, L, D )
Day 11: Wednesday - Sail to Española Island
In the morning, arrive at Española island and spend the morning relaxing or enjoying one of the several optional tours around Gardner Bay. Although the water may be chilly, travelers are encouraged to go swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters to view the varied species beneath the surface. In the afternoon, visit Punta Suarez with a chance to see sea lions surfing the waves and marine iguanas basking in the sun Overnight: Cruise ( B, L, D )
Day 12: Thursday - Sail to Whale Bay/ Rabida Island
This morning, travel to Whale Bay off the coast of Santa Cruz Island, one of the oldest whaling camps in the Galapagos. The beaches here are tinted green because of the presence of olivine crystals in high concentrations. The Galapagos only natural predatory animal, the Galapagos Hawk, can frequently be seen here as well. In the afternoon, journey to the small island of Rabida (wet landing), located to the south of Santiago, and home to a central volcano with some of largest and most varied types of lava in the island chain. Famous for its red sand beaches, a small saltwater lagoon provides occasional sights of Flamingos feeding on pink shrimp larva while the beach is home to a large sea lion colony. Additionally, there is a short walk to the top of the trail where you will have opportunities to photograph the striking volcanic peaks Overnight: Cruise ( B, L, D )
Day 13: Friday - Sail to Santa Cruz Island
Today, arrive at Santa Cruz Island (dry landing). Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, a specialized breeding and rearing center for the endangered Galapagos Giant Tortoise. The Darwin Station is a working branch of the international, non-profit Charles Darwin foundation which works to protect and maintain the Galapagos precious ecosystems. Afterward, walk through Puerto Ayora, the largest town on the islands, and visit the local shops for unique souvenirs. This afternoon continue to Plazas Island, which was formed from lava leaking out of the ocean floor. It houses one of the largest Land Iguana populations in the Galapagos and is famous for for its beautiful flora, which includes prickly pear cactus trees and the Sesuvium ground vegetation, which changes color from green in the rainy season to orange and purple in the dry seasons Overnight: Cruise ( B, L, D )
Day 14: Saturday - Sail to Baltra Island/Flight to Quito
Dock in Baltra Island and transfer back to the airport, where a plane will take you back to Quito on the mainland. Upon Arrival, transfer back to your hotel and enjoy the balance of your day at leisure Overnight: Quito ( B )
Day 15: Sunday - Depart for USA
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight ( B )
